Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
Zumaya
was examined Thursday by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla. He
received a second cortisone injection to calm the inflammation in his
right shoulder, and at the same time it was determined he will have

Royals acquired OF Josh Anderson from the Tigers for cash considerations.
The Tigers designated Anderson for assignment last week. He hit just
242/.282/.315 with no home runs and 16 RBI in 165 at-bats with Detroit,
but is only 26 and still holds a bit of promise. He should receive a
decent amount of playing time while Jose Guillen (knee) is sidelined.
