On January 19th of last year, King Felix avoided arbitration with the M's when he agreed to a one-year pact worth more than $3.8MM. Earlier in the week we heard that the two sides were working towards a five or six-year deal.
While the terms of the agreement are currently unknown, one can assume that Hernandez will command more than soon-to-be 26-year-old Josh Johnson, whose deal will call for him to make $13.75MM in each his first two free agent years.
