A major league source told MLB.com Wednesday night that Roy Oswalt "would love" the opportunity to pitch in St. Louis.
This backs up a report by Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports, also on Wednesday night. MLB.com's source adds that Oswalt indicated earlier this year that he would not require his $16 million option to be picked up at all if he were traded to the Cardinals, which is obviously great news. It's believed that Oswalt would be more amenable to a trade to St. Louis, which is close to his Mississippi home. Ultimately, it will come down to whether the Cardinals are willing to give up the prospects the Astros covet, the most significant being 2009 first-round pick Shelby Miller. Jul. 22 - 11:42 am et
